The Norfolk Gluten Free Company, Shop & Café
The Gluten Free Shop & Café in Norwich
Louisa & Tony were inspired to set up the shop & café on Timberhill in Norwich after finding it so difficult to find lovely gluten free and wheat free food, and getting fed up with the lack of available options and label-reading in the supermarket. They have always been passionate about small and local produce, so it’s really important to them that they showcase producers from all around the county, as well as bringing together the very best free-from goods from the rest of the UK; now all under one roof in the centre of historic Norwich, along with a café where everything is safe to eat for those on a gluten free diet.
They are delighted be at the heart of Norfolk’s’ growing gluten free community, and are enthusiastic about bringing fabulous food choices to the people of the county who find themselves unable to have whatever they like when shopping and eating out. Everything on sale at the shop and on the café menu is gluten free, many items are also free from dairy, other allergens, or are vegan too, and there’s a great selection artisan products on offer as well as many family favourites. With amazing wheat free bread and cakes, store cupboard staples and wonderful pies, we guarantee that there is bound to be something you’ll enjoy.
There is a history of Coeliac Disease Louisa’s family so she follows a strict gluten free diet, plus partner Tony is intolerant to wheat; other members of the team have different intolerances too, so they really understand what it is that those on any restricted diet miss out on. The business really is a labour of love for us and we are so glad for the support that we have had from our customers along the journey so far.
After browsing through the well-stocked gluten free shop upstairs, make sure you stay and relax with a locally ground coffee, luxurious hot chocolate, or a delicate Sri Lankan tea along with a slice of delicious cake.
The Gluten Free Shop & Café is open 7 days a week. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday 9.30am – 5pm, and 10am – 4pm on Sundays.
